dre is a great producer, an icon, but just not a good rapper. so instead of just sleeping on his skills he started writing for dre. the DOC was an upcoming rapper late 80's same time as NWA and he was involved in an accident that fucked up his vocal chords. he always had snoop dogg and the DOC writing for him. he's ok with the flow and i'm sure he can write some rhymes but i can guarantee that most of his lyrics on his albums and during NWA was written by somebody else. the main reason he has done only 2 albums in the last 25 years is because he's not really a rapper. I agree on some of the names you dropped and even if i disagree with some of them, they can be argued. i think only notorious BIG and ol dirty bastard can live up to the legend they received after death. his flow is so smooth BUT if you pay attention to his lyrics then you'll see that his rhymes are really simple and elementary. sometimes when listening to tracks he did with DITC i just skip everything else and loop his verse. again, i'm not hating on the guy, he's one of my all time favs. His career has spanned over 24 years, during which he has released eleven albums.
